From Plantation To Pot Tea Experience: The Egerton Salon Series
Follow the extraordinary journey of tea from leaf to cup in this elegant and immersive Salon Series experience, where London itself becomes part of the storytelling.
The experience begins at Leadenhall Market, where you will meet your guide, renowned tea expert Dan Silva of PMD Tea, for an introduction to the origins of Britain’s tea trade. From here, a guided walking journey unfolds through historic streets and riverside landmarks, bringing to life the stories, people and pivotal moments that shaped the nation’s enduring relationship with tea.
Along the way, Dan shares rare insights into provenance, flavour and craft, tracing tea’s path from ancient plantations to the drawing rooms of British society. Through engaging anecdotes and expert commentary, this is not simply a walk, but a considered exploration of tea as both a global commodity and a deeply personal ritual.
Following the walk, you will travel together to The Egerton House Hotel, where the experience continues in the refined surroundings of the Drawing Room. Here, the journey comes full circle with a beautifully curated afternoon tea, personally selected and presented by Dan. Enhanced by expert storytelling and guided tastings, each element reflects the narrative of tea from plantation to teapot, offering a moment to pause, reflect, and savour one of Britain’s most cherished traditions.
